You’re always asking yourself if you’re as smart as that professor or as witty as that comedian. You’re wondering if you’re as good-looking as that model on TV or pretty as that actress. But, Hey! Stop Yourself Right There!

If you’re constantly comparing yourself with other people and feel like you’re never as good, it’s time to work on yourself.

But, why you should stop comparing yourself to others?

It’s easy to compare yourself to people, but it’s not that easy to stop. It takes a bit of practice and determination, but once you do, you’ll never look back and regret the ways you could’ve changed your life. And that’s not a thing you want to be thinking about on your deathbed.

Can you stop comparing? Well, yes, and here are a few tips on how to achieve that-

  1. Tell yourself that this is not a race! You have to have the mindset that you have just as much time as anyone else. You may not have time to accomplish everything, but you can make a dent each day.

2. It’s important to remember that everyone has different circumstances and experiences.

3. Don’t compare yourself to others on specific traits. Focus on yourself and your achievements. You feel more fulfilled as you focus on your success and do not compare it to others.

4. Remember that everyone is unique in their own way; that may not necessarily be good or bad. Be the best you can be.

Remember, if people don’t have anything nice to say, they are not worth your time and attention and that too in exchange of your mental health. You shouldn’t be filling your head with it.

I used to compare myself with others, but soon my therapist made me realize why just focus on certain aspects. If you really want to compare, take everything into consideration like their A-Z to your A-Z.

Once you think about this, you will realize you are doing good and you do not need anyone’s validation to have a happy life.

All you need to remember is — it’s okay to be different, and it’s okay to be you. Take baby steps and start loving yourself for who you are.
